The Love Bullet team is overjoyed with it's collaboration with the non profit organization Children's Art Village. This charity implements sustainable art and music programs in orphanages worldwide. The use of art in a child's life fosters self-awareness and self-confidence. Music and dance are mediums of expression that initiate the healing process after trauma like child slavery and abandonment...so we are proud to help in a little way. For every Love Bullet necklace sold will donate to the CAV which could provide 10 children with their own set of crayons for their art class! Or buy two sets of drum sticks for the music class. Art supplies are imperative to these classes. That means so much to the kids...and just think of the joy it brings them to create and be creative! Thanks for your support!
On my travel shoot in Rio Rico this last week, I was so excited to squeeze in some LOVE bullet photo shoots in these amazing locations! Here are some out takes and you can find more on our Instagram. After a long week of early morning photo shoots, hiking, and adventuring around town...I look forward to a Rio Rican Retreat weekend :) My goal is to be doing yoga or researching charities in my pajamas!
I came across this photo story on The Free Thought Project by Angelo Merendino of his wife's battle with cancer. What touched me was finding out they were only married 5 months before her diagnosis. That is so tragic but almost makes me hopeful to know that true love exists in the Universe like that. One of the most loving ways of thinking as a couple is "we are in this together" and that is exactly how they stuck together, through thick and thin. As a photographer, I admire the realness in every picture and the black and white really captures the emotion. Although the subject matter is sad, it touches me that Angelo wanted to remember the journey as I'm sure it was filled with more love than many see in a life time. Seeing him hold her in bed and knowing she was never alone to carry the burden of fear...brings me to tears. I'm sharing this because it's a story of great love AND it's motivating me to do research on charities that help support cancer patients with their financial struggles throughout their battle. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have suggestions for me to look into.
This Sunday Nov. 3rd in Los Angeles, the 5th annual Remember the Music benefit concert is being hosted by Betty's Foundation and I am thrilled to be involved! The music starts at 8pm, so show up early and bid on a silver or gold love bullet necklace that will be in the silent auction. I think Betty's Foundation (which is actually comprised of Betty's own children and grandchildren- pretty cool!) does a spectacular job with this event because it links in music in such a special way. I do believe in the healing properties of music, so it touches my heart. All proceeds from necklaces go 100% to the research and elimination of Alzheimer's. Hope you can make this event, it's going to be a blast!
